For all users of SystemCore Standard or Advanced mailboxes...
We are pleased to announce that we are about to launch our new enhanced Webmail service. New webmail adds significant extra functionality to your webmail service with least impact for our customers; your webmail access address and login will stay the same, but you will see many new extra features. Importantly we will seamlessly transfer all your settings, emails and address book entries to the new interface.
We aim to launch the service on Wednesday 13 August 2008 by 10am UK time. N.B. For Microsoft Exchange 2003 customers your services are not affected.
New features at a glance:
- New Sent mail folder - emails that you have sent via webmail will now be saved!
- Online Calendar - just like Outlook or Entourage, you can now store appointments in an online calendar within the application
- Security - if you need extra strength security, you can select strong encryption for your webmail interface and emails
- Ability to create you own online folders
If we need to reschedule the Webmail launch for any reason, we will let you know as early as possible by email.
What you need to do:
- Absolutely nothing! You address to access webmail stays the same, as do your login details
- You will have a choice of 'Interface' type at the login screen, we recommend 'Advanced' to see the full feature set when you log in. If you have any problem, or are using a non standard browser, choose the 'Basic' - any browser option
- Pricing changes - there will be no price changes to your email accounts until your account is due for renewal - the price for Advanced mailboxes with enhanced webmail will however rise to £29.99+vat per year - we hope this is acceptable, and please remember it is the first price rise to SystemCore email services in over four years!
- Remember, if you choose to store all your emails online (without clearing them down to your local mail client (e.g. Outlook) - you will begin to fill up your mailbox space more quickly. Use your mailbox control panel (MCP) to view your current mailbox usage. (http://mcp.yourdomain.com)
New IMAP support
With the Webmail launch, we will also be introducing IMAP (Internet Message Access Protocol) for all Standard and Advanced mailboxes, which provides significantly more flexibility over POP3:
- Create personal folders to store and organise email.
- Access the same mailbox from more than one computer.
- More than one person can access the same mailbox simultaneously.
